# How to change a site’s URL in Modular DS

If the URL of one of your websites has changed, you don't need to add it to Modular DS again as a new website.

You can update the address from the site settings and keep that website's entire history.

## Change your website's URL

Go to the site whose address you want to change and follow these steps:

1. Open "Site settings" from the sidebar.
2. In the "Settings" tab, find the "Website URL" section, which is the first one.
3. Enter the new address in the "URL" field.
4. Click "Save" to confirm the change.

## What to keep in mind

This option is meant for when the real address of a website you already have in Modular DS changes, for example after migrating to a new domain.

By editing the URL instead of adding the site again, you keep intact the data linked to that website:

* Your reports history.
* Your backups.
* Your Uptime Monitor records.

When you save the new address, Modular DS reconnects the site automatically. You don't need to reconnect it manually.
