Have you encountered an error message when trying to connect your website to Modular? Don't worry, we are here to fix it. Below, you will find the most common causes of this issue and how to fix it in order to establish the connection correctly.

Check these key points:

Correct URL: Make sure you have entered the public url of your website correctly in the first step of the connection. Not the administration url, but the url that the user sees when he enters the website.
PHP version: Modular can only connect to websites whose server is running PHP version equal to or higher than PHP 7.4. This is for security reasons only, as earlier versions have been deprecated and are therefore obsolete, as you can see here.
WordPress version: If your site uses a WordPress version prior to 5.6, you will need to upgrade. Security is our priority.
Modular Connector Plugin: Make sure you have the latest version of the plugin installed. Download it from this link.
Blocking by country: In order for the connection between your website and the Modular DS panel to be established, you must allow connections from Ireland, in case you block traffic by country.

If you have just registered in the tool you will find two buttons to add a new website.

One in the center of the Modular main screen and one at the top:

1. Enter the basic data of the website

How to restore Modular backups

If you need to recover a backup generated by Modular DS, here is a step-by-step guide to restore the two main components of a backup: the database and the files.

You will be able to do it either from the Modular DS panel itself or from other well-known tools such as phpMyAdmin for the database or cPanel/Plesk for the files.

Now you can restore a full backup directly from Modular DS, without the need for external tools. Ideal for recovering your website quickly when something goes wrong or you simply want to return to a previous state.

To do so, just follow these simple steps:

1. Restore configuration

Access the backup section of your website and go to the “Restoration” tab.

If you have the All In One WP Security plugin activated on your website, there is a small adjustment you need to make to ensure that Modular runs smoothly. Don't worry, it's quick and easy.

1. Go to the Firewall: Within All In One WP Security, navigate to the Firewall section.

2. Disable the 6G firewall protection option: Go to the "6G Firewall Rules" tab and make sure the 6G firewall protection it is disabled. This is vital to avoid conflicts with Modular.
