How to choose the user to log in to WordPress

One of the most useful everyday features in Modular DS is logging in to any of your sites with a single click, using the "Go to WordPress" button.

But you might be wondering: which user do I log in as when I do this from Modular DS? That is something you can choose in your site settings.

What this user is for

It is important to understand that Modular DS does not use this user or its credentials to work.

The connection to your site and the maintenance tasks that Modular DS handles travel through the Modular Connector plugin, which bridges your WordPress and Modular DS.

This administrator user only comes into play for the one-click login.

When you click "Go to WordPress", Modular DS opens your WordPress dashboard already logged in as that user.

How to choose the user

You choose the user separately for each site. To set it up:

1. Go to the site's panel and open "Site settings".
2. Find the "1-click WordPress login user" section.
3. In the "User name" dropdown, choose the administrator you want to log in as.

Only users with the administrator role on that WordPress appear in the dropdown.

Once selected, that will be the user you log in as the next time you click "Go to WordPress" for that site.
