Beyond updating, you can also install, activate, deactivate, or delete plugins and themes across one or multiple websites at once from the global updater.

How to install plugins and themes

Go to the relevant tab at the top of the updater (plugins or themes).

Then click the “Install” button in the top-right corner and choose:

  • Install from the WordPress repository
  • Install from a ZIP file
  • Install from URL

When installing a plugin from the updater or uploading a ZIP file manually, you’ll see which sites already have it installed, making it easier to update only where needed.

How to activate, deactivate, or delete plugins and themes

As with installation, first go to the relevant tab at the top of the updater.

Then, in the list, select the plugins or themes and the sites where you want to apply changes.

The available actions, such as activate, deactivate, or delete, will appear at the bottom of the screen. To run any of them, simply click the corresponding option. You can also hover over each icon to see what it does.

By default, the updater shows items with pending updates.

If you want to see all installed plugins or themes across your websites, remember to switch to the “All” view from the dropdown menu.

Managing plugins and themes for a single website

You can perform the same actions from the site-level updater, which is the default screen you’ll see when accessing a specific site from your Modular DS dashboard.
